[Newe Zeitung - Flood of 1784]. Vollständige Nachrichten von denen großen Wasserfluthen am Rhein, Mayn, Neckar, der Donau, Elbe, Moldau, Saale und andern Flüssen. Wie sie Städte und Dörfer ruiniret [...]. Geschehen im Februar und März des 1784sten Jahres.

No place or printer, (1784).

4to. 16 pp. With woodcut title borders. Marbled wrappers.

Very rare pamphlet commemorating the immense floods of 1784 which followed the unusually harsh winter of 1783/84 throughout Germany when sudden warm weather and torrents of rain filled the still ice-packed rivers. Includes reports from Dresden, Königstein, Meißen, Torgau, Roitzsch bei Bitterfeld, Schandau, Barby, Merseburg, Weißenfels, Prague, Bamberg, Regensburg, Erlangen, Nuremberg, Melnik, Bommel, Ingolstadt, Cleves, Wertheim, Düsseldorf, Munich, Cologne, Paris, and Wehlen near Pirna. At the end are the words of a song about the disaster, to be sung to the tune of "Herzliebster Jesu, was hast du verbrochen" - Central Europe's Backwater Blues of 1784.
