First edition, edited by Caussin de Percival. One of the first complete French-Arabic dictionaries. The Copt Ellious Bocthor (1784-1821) held a chair for Vulgar Arabic at the École des Langues Orientales in Paris.

Some foxing throughout, otherwise an excellent copy. From the library of the Ducs de Luynes at the Château de Dampierre: their bookplate reproducing the arms of Charles Marie d'Albert de Luynes (1783-1839), 7th Duc de Luynes, on pastedown in both vols.
