The Austrian newspaper Der Standard has reported the discovery of a previously unknown manuscript by the author Thomas Bernhard. According to the report, the manuscript is thought to be a 'corrected copy' of the first manuscript from the year 1957 of the work 'Herrenhaus'. It is believed that Bernhard wrote around 70 pages himself.

The article stated that Bernhard had the original copy of the manuscript bound, with plain white pages between the original pages and which he filled with a preface and countless statements, corrections, notes and around 25 sketches.
